Hitradio Namibia received the broadcasting authorization from the Namibian Communications Authority (CRAN) on May 15, 2012 and is thus the new growth in Namibia’s colorful media landscape. The owners of Hitradio Namibia are Wilfried Hähner (Managing Director) and Sybille Rothkegel (Financial Director), both native Namibians, who are very close to the beautiful country and its people. Official broadcast was on August 1, 2012. Hitradio Namibia is currently broadcasting (in March 2015) in the central country to 99.5 VHF and on the central coast as well as in Lüderitz to 97.5 VHF. Since the end of 2013 Hitradio Namibia has also been received in Otjiwarongo at 90.0 VHF and in Tsumeb at 90.4 VHF. Expansion is planned in other parts of the country.

The program focuses on news and news from Namibia, southern Africa and the world. Musically the best of the 80s, 90s, 2000s and today is played. Namibian talents are also encouraged.
