Ravage Radio was founded by friends who grew up in the Chicago suburb of Rockford, Illinois. The station started as a venue for local DJs to play their mixes live on-air and stream them over the internet. The online feed quickly gained worldwide popularity, and with that came new listeners, new celebrity guests, and many new DJ appointments.

In 2012 Ravage Radio signed on official FM translators K235AV 93.9 FM Streator (Rockford) & W232AD 94.3 FM Dixon (Rock Falls). This allowed area audiences across central Illinois to tune into the station 24/7 live stream.
The station has gained the listenership of many people around the globe and quickly grew to one of the most popular online stations within its genre.
