CJME is a radio station in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada that broadcasts at 980 kHz. Its format is News / Talk. It shares studios with sister stations CIZL-FM and CKCK-FM on Regina 2401 Saskatchewan Drive.

CJME was founded and signed into the air on November 25, 1955 by a group of businessmen led by former radio salesman Jay Marsh Ellis.

Its original format was easy to listen to, but the station was not successful until the top 40 began playing music in 1963.In 1967, CJME was bought by Prince Albert, owner of CKBI Radio and CKBI-TV, the Rollinson family.

Their company was later renamed Raulco Communications. The station was renamed “CJME Power 13” in early 1987, continuing the top 40 successful formats.

April 25, 1988, during its 25th anniversary; A random mix of former songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s began to mix for a while, though it still continues to drive the steady top 40 focus.

By the 1990s, the station format had changed from the top 40 to the oldest in 1998 The last song on CJME at midnight in September, 1998 was Don McLean’s “American Pie,” when the station stopped the loop recording of “A New Station Coming” for the whole day.

CJME was relaunched as a news / talk radio station on September 8, 1998 at 5:30 p.m. In 2001, CJME moved from their long-standing position to 1300 kHz to 980 kHz frequency.

On September 11, the station at 200 On changed its on-air brand from 980 CJME to News Talk 980.In late 2006, the station re-added CJME call letters to its on-air brand, known as ‘News Talk 980 CJME’.

On September 29, 2009, CJME applied to add new FM rehabilitators to extend its cover to South Saskatchewan. The new transmitters will be available at Gravelberg (107.1 MHz), Swift Current (101.7 MHz) and Warmley (107.3 MHz), all with an ERP of 100,000 watts. The application was approved by the CRTC on February 26, 2010
