Radio Valdevez

Radio Valdevez live broadcasting from Portugal. Radio Valdevez was founded on 13 October 1987. We have a mission: to privilege the people of the Upper catchment area and Baixo Mino and south of Galicia and the Portuguese communities around the world, especially arcuenses, with a program schedule diverse, with news information held by the wording, performing music programs, mostly with Portuguese music, giving priority to direct contact and interaction with listeners.

Sports radio (or sports talk radio) is a radio format devoted entirely to discussion and broadcasting of sporting events. A widespread programming genre that has a narrow audience appeal, sports radio is characterized by an often-boisterous on-air style and extensive debate and analysis by both hosts and callers. Many sports talk stations also carry play-by-play of local sports teams as part of their regular programming. Hosted by Bill Mazer, the first sports talk radio show in history launched in March 1964 on New York’s WNBC (AM).

Soon after WNBC launched its program, in 1965 Seton Hall University’s radio station, WSOU, started “Hall Line,” a call-in sports radio talk show that focuses on Seton Hall Basketball. Having celebrated its 50th anniversary on air during the 2015-2016 season, “Hall Line,” which broadcasts to central and northern New Jersey as well as all five boroughs of New York, is the oldest and longest running sports talk call-in show in the NY-NJ Metropolitan area– and is believed to be the oldest in the nation.

Music can be divided into genres (e.g., country music) and genres can be further divided into subgenres (e.g., country blues and pop country are two of the many country subgenres), although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to personal interpretation, and occasionally controversial. For example, it can be hard to draw the line between some early 1980s hard rock and heavy metal. Within the arts, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art or as an auditory art. Music may be played or sung and heard live at a rock concert or orchestra performance, heard live as part of a dramatic work (a music theater show or opera), or it may be recorded and listened to on a radio, MP3 player or CD player or as part of a film or TV show.
